Monologues of a Female NASCAR Fan with a touch of Hormonal Rants and Raves.
Well at least something right came out of the million rumors in regards to “Silly Season” as most have been calling it.
It turns out that Tony Stewart1 won’t really put on a cape, leap tall buildings with a single bound, stop a speeding bullet and clone himself 43 times so he can race against himself for a Sprint Cup championship.
As reported by AP, he will however, be let out of his contract with Joe Gibbs Racing early to explore his much desired opportunities to own a race team. Joe Gibbs and J.D. Gibbs were very reluctant to release Stewart but when it became apparent that Stewart wanted out of the contract they agreed to an early release.
“We’re just going to look at everything out there,” Stewart said in back in April. “A wise person once told me it doesn’t cost a dime to listen, so right now we’re all ears.”
He’s had an offer since April to buy Haas-CNC Racing and will supposedly rebuild the company from the inside out if the offer is taken. Another pro for Stewart is that he will also be back to re-establishing his supposedly desired relationship with Chevrolet since JGR’s move to Toyota for this 2008 season.
However if some may call it a downside, and recall a few months back, Haas CNC cars were confiscated by NASCAR for legality issues. To add to the Haas CNC soap opera, the current owner Gene Haas is currently serving a prison sentence for tax evasion.
There have been no further confirmed reports further than his early contract release. However, the rumor mill is still churning that Joey Logano will be replacing Stewart with Home Depot staying aboard as his sponsor, and Ryan Newman will join Stewart’s new team.
Here’s to hoping that Tony will have the Midas touch when it comes to Haas CNC.
