Monologues of a Female NASCAR Fan with a touch of Hormonal Rants and Raves.

It seems like Denny Hamlin is trying not to end up a “Tony Stewart Statistic”.

As in, he’s not going to risk injuring himself if he wrecks in the Nationwide Series race so much to the point that it effects him racing in the Sprint Cup. Tony Stewart did it last season when he injured his shoulder. Hence why I personally call it the “Tony Stewart Statistic”

NASCAR.com reports that Denny Hamlin will sit out the Nationwide Series race this week. Denny mentioned that since he is only 12th in points, he basically felt he didn’t have anything to lose.

He considered sitting out the Sprint Cup race as well, but he is currently reported to be definitly racing this week and feeling better from last week’s hard wreck.

No diaper baby whining this week for Hamlin! I feel so lost!

NASCAR reports that there will be an announcement tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon at Lowe’s Motor Speedway that the U.S. Army will be the primary sponsor for Ryan Newman’s #39 Chevy car with the newly formed Stewart-Haas racing next season.

Tony Stewart’s #14 car has already been announced to have Office Depot and Old Spice as alternating sponsor’s so it looks like this race team is coming along almost perfectly.

NASCAR.com quotes Stewart:

“I’m really excited about having the opportunity to be hands-on and be a part of getting things going for next year and trying to get the key people hired right now and dealing with all the people at the shop that I haven’t had a chance to work with yet,” he said Monday on a conference call with reporters. “It’s an exciting time for me. It’s the busiest I’ve ever been in my life right now.”

I think it’s safe to say that it was a good weekend for Tony Stewart and a bad weekend for Regan Smith and Carl Edwards.

Stewart won his first race at Talladega, so there’s lots to drink to because he has come in 2nd place 9 times at that race track. What a way to pop your Talladega cherry!

With all the cars that were taken out of the race, I almost thought that the last lap of the race was going to be a scene out of “Talladega Nights” and Tony Stewart and Regan Smith would jump out of their wrecked cars and run towards the finish line and…well if you’ve seen the movie, I don’t need to go into detail.

I must admit, I totally forgot the rules for passing because I was too busy cheering and throwing things for Stewart to win, so I really thought Regan Smith had it there in the end.

Sports Illustrated explained that if you pass below the yellow line to improve your position it is a pass through penalty, since it was the last lap of the race, they sent Regan Smith’s ending position to the end, which was 18th.

However TheStar.com explains that “NASCAR also says that if a driver is forced – repeat: forced – below the yellow line, and makes a pass, the pass shall stand.”

So…confused. So what are the REAL rules?

Maybe it’s the woman in me, but a big part of me feels bad for Regan Smith, it’s not like he really had anywhere else to go but below the line, he was forced down there, at the same time Stewart was blocking and protecting his position, but that’s racing!

I just didn’t want to sound partial towards Stewart, but seeing that he is my driver, I’m going to sound like it no matter how much I justify it to myself.

On another note, did someone tell Carl Edwards that if you bump draft someone too hard that it’s not like the video games, they will get turned around? Someone needs to take away his game console and stuff it up his bum. (Call me Carl, I’m just the girl for the job!)

I tried to shoot my boyfriend in the head thinking we was going to be like a zombie and rise right back up again because that’s what they do in the video games.

Out of all the people to screw up the bum hole, it had to be his own Roush teammates, Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth and half of the points contenders for the Sprint Cup and then some including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Travis Kvapil, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Michael Waltrip, Dave Blaney, Juan Pablo Montoya and Reed Sorenson.

Carl Edwards definitely gets the “Here’s Your Sign” award this week along with this quote from him:

“I was worried about the idiots when you come here and I was the guy that caused that one,” he said.

DDDDUUUUUUUHHH!

5. Tony Stewart/Joey Logano “Home Depot” Commercial

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m a Stewart fan and I’m slowly becoming a Loano fan so this commercial is kind of bittersweet (because Tony’s leaving) and exciting because I know Logano will do all my #20 merchandise justice.

Lordy, lordy, lordy. Kyle Busch said “ass” Haha anyways, I found these fun little videos and photos from The Fast and the Fabulous (a wonderful NASCAR blog by Valli) and just had to share for all you ladies out there.

The video above and the photo below was from “Chase Media Day” which shows the top 12 NASCAR Race for the Chase contenders.

I love seeing the NASCAR guys out of their element…and in suits none the less. One, it’s extremely attractive and two, it’s humanizes them, it shows the public that they really are normal human beings. Probably for the same reasons that I love seeing my favorite singers dressed in normal street clothes. It humanizes them and even for a moment, takes away from the “celebrity” factor.

Which is probably why I’m so into this photo:

Although, speaking from a degrading woman’s standpoint, I think Tony Stewart could clean up a lot better. I’d love to see him wearing something like what Denny Hamlin is wearing. Just a personal reflection.

Where There’s Smoke…

In the latest Rolling Stone magazine, there’s a Tony Stewart feature where he confesses that I am all he cares about…

“Pussy, money and race cars. That’s pretty much all I care about.” Tony says.

See…he even named me first!

Not to mention, with me being a female Tony Stewart fan, I’m sure me and many other women had to change their pants after reading this article. In regards to the aforementioned post where someone asked me to splurge the Top 3 NASCAR Drivers I would sleep with in a heartbeat boyfriend or not…this post might give away the hint for who’s pining for my #1 spot.

Here’s the article:

We’ve got him Stewart fans!

Friday at Michigan International Speedway Ryan Newman will make it official that he will be joining Stewart-Haas racing next 2009 season.

The rumors had been running for months that Newman was the man to join the newly formed race team, but there had been no official announcements…at least not until this Friday morning at 10:30 AM.

NASCAR.com reports:

“Tony’s a great competitor in a great many ways, because he’s tough, but he’s also respectful,” Newman said prior to the July 12 race at Chicagoland. “He’s been a good friend on and off the racetrack, specifically off. He’s done a lot to help me and guide me. He’s an Indiana boy, so I have a different respect for him because of that. But in general, he’s just a hard-nosed racer, and I’ve always appreciated him for that. Whether we argue on the racetrack or not, we’re two hard-nosed racers.”

It will obviously not be all roses when the 2009 season approaches for Newman. He will be driving the #4 car which is out of the top 35 in owners points.

Stewart automatically gets into the races with his #14 car because he is a past series champ.
