Obviously there is nothing else interesting in the NASCAR realm to report, because my NASCAR news alerts blew up my mailbox this week with the Kevin Harvick vs. Carl Edwards “fight”.

While photographers were there to watch the happy couple get into their domestic dispute, this is the only released photo of the incident:

Yeah right! I’m not special enough to have that picture!

To break it down, Harvick was bitter about the Talladega wreck last week and said post race,

“I know that his fans won’t be very proud of him sitting back there riding around like a pansy, If he had been racing all day, maybe he would have known how long the front of his car was.”

Edwards thinks he’s still in high school and started passing nasty notes around to Harvick saying “thank you” and “I was really trying to screw up everyone’s day. Love, Carl.”

They finally met up in the garage’s this week and tried to scrap it out.

I say we just put them in an octagon and let them go at it. My money is on Carl, I’ve seen what’s under that fire suit! (Not in person, but I can only imagine!) Harvick better run, Carl will have a big yellow shell for dinner! Some of the other guys agree with me too…

“I’m going to go with Carl, with his build. But I still think Harvick is a pretty good scrapper.” Kyle Busch says. Should I be scared that Kyle Busch mentioned Carl’s “build”?

“It would be tough,” Dale Earnhardt Jr. said. “Kevin never backed down from anybody. But you know that Carl is pretty tough. It’d be quite interesting.”

A member of the media asked Harvick if this whole dramatic fiasco was just a ploy to get into Carl Edwards’ head, to which Harvick replied,

“That’s not very hard to do,”

That gives me hope! I would like to be in his….ahem…head!

It seems like Denny Hamlin is trying not to end up a “Tony Stewart Statistic”.

As in, he’s not going to risk injuring himself if he wrecks in the Nationwide Series race so much to the point that it effects him racing in the Sprint Cup. Tony Stewart did it last season when he injured his shoulder. Hence why I personally call it the “Tony Stewart Statistic”

NASCAR.com reports that Denny Hamlin will sit out the Nationwide Series race this week. Denny mentioned that since he is only 12th in points, he basically felt he didn’t have anything to lose.

He considered sitting out the Sprint Cup race as well, but he is currently reported to be definitly racing this week and feeling better from last week’s hard wreck.

No diaper baby whining this week for Hamlin! I feel so lost!

GM’s latest creation and contribution to a greener world is the Chevy Volt, an electric plug-in car. The tag line…”From gas-friendly to gas free”..which to most of us that are suffering from the high cost of gas prices…is a great tag line.

The Chevy Volt was shown off last week at Texas Motor Speedway as a method to reel in race fans.

The only problem that most NASCAR fans might have with the Volt being affiliated with racing is…the Volt is extremly quiet. So for me personally, the sound of loud engines zooming by is what initially got me interested in watching NASCAR, the Volt might not be so appealing.

What do you guys think?

I can understand the concept of going green and saving the environment, but I think watching a silent car drive in circles for hours on end would bore more than entertain.

NASCAR reports that there will be an announcement tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon at Lowe’s Motor Speedway that the U.S. Army will be the primary sponsor for Ryan Newman’s #39 Chevy car with the newly formed Stewart-Haas racing next season.

Tony Stewart’s #14 car has already been announced to have Office Depot and Old Spice as alternating sponsor’s so it looks like this race team is coming along almost perfectly.

NASCAR.com quotes Stewart:

“I’m really excited about having the opportunity to be hands-on and be a part of getting things going for next year and trying to get the key people hired right now and dealing with all the people at the shop that I haven’t had a chance to work with yet,” he said Monday on a conference call with reporters. “It’s an exciting time for me. It’s the busiest I’ve ever been in my life right now.”

Denny Hamlin was released from a hospital yesterday after this hard hit from this past weekend’s race at Talladega:

The single car wreck was caused by a tire failure. After leaving his car, they took him to a local hospital for further observation where he was kept overnight. He was reported to have been complaining of a headache and there were reports he had a possible concussion, but I have not found any confirmation of this.

I know I like making fun of the guy for being a whiny diaper baby at times, (which believe me, is all in good fun, I’m not that cruel!) but I really am glad he is OK!

Granted, you could barely tell from looking on TV, but I guess there were names on there.

The first 70,000 fans that signed up got their names on it. Since I am a stinkin’ sucker, I signed up for it. If you did the same, you can go to AmpEnergy.com and login with your email address to see where your name placed on the car.

Electronically (probably not for real!)…I’m on the left center, somewhere in the #88 symbol. But I’m a dumb-fud, and put my real name on the form, so I cannot point out where my name is on this electronic simulation of the car photo below, just trust me, it’s there, because I don’t trust the internet and am not going to tell you my name!
With all the cars that were taken out of the race, I almost thought that the last lap of the race was going to be a scene out of “Talladega Nights” and Tony Stewart and Regan Smith would jump out of their wrecked cars and run towards the finish line and…well if you’ve seen the movie, I don’t need to go into detail.

I must admit, I totally forgot the rules for passing because I was too busy cheering and throwing things for Stewart to win, so I really thought Regan Smith had it there in the end.

Sports Illustrated explained that if you pass below the yellow line to improve your position it is a pass through penalty, since it was the last lap of the race, they sent Regan Smith’s ending position to the end, which was 18th.

However TheStar.com explains that “NASCAR also says that if a driver is forced – repeat: forced – below the yellow line, and makes a pass, the pass shall stand.”

So…confused. So what are the REAL rules?

Maybe it’s the woman in me, but a big part of me feels bad for Regan Smith, it’s not like he really had anywhere else to go but below the line, he was forced down there, at the same time Stewart was blocking and protecting his position, but that’s racing!

I just didn’t want to sound partial towards Stewart, but seeing that he is my driver, I’m going to sound like it no matter how much I justify it to myself.

On another note, did someone tell Carl Edwards that if you bump draft someone too hard that it’s not like the video games, they will get turned around? Someone needs to take away his game console and stuff it up his bum. (Call me Carl, I’m just the girl for the job!)

I tried to shoot my boyfriend in the head thinking we was going to be like a zombie and rise right back up again because that’s what they do in the video games.

Out of all the people to screw up the bum hole, it had to be his own Roush teammates, Greg Biffle and Matt Kenseth and half of the points contenders for the Sprint Cup and then some including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Travis Kvapil, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Michael Waltrip, Dave Blaney, Juan Pablo Montoya and Reed Sorenson.

Carl Edwards definitely gets the “Here’s Your Sign” award this week along with this quote from him:

“I was worried about the idiots when you come here and I was the guy that caused that one,” he said.

DDDDUUUUUUUHHH!

So I found some interesting information about where the NASCAR Goodyear tires go to die. And it’s actually a very pretty life.

HitVaHot explains that after a race is finished, there are at least 600 used up tires. They are stacked four high and collected at the end of the pits. Besides the supposed pieces that make their way onto eBay where desperate fans bid of them and place them in a frame to hang on their walls, some of the retired tires are made into coolers.

No joke! They sell them at NascarCooler.net

As pretty awesome as they look, and they seem like a great staple to have at NASCAR and football parties, the tire cooler costs a one time payment of $319.96. Which personally, I’d rather go to a race and sleep with a pit crew member and get one for free, better yet, I’m due for a tire change on my car, I’ll just save one and throw my Bud Light and Rum in that. That’s just me, I don’t have that kind of money to blow.

Maybe one day when I marry the race car driver of my dreams and he can give me a tire off his car…
